The skinny on suffering

Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; Genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus raps this all up, it's your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.-1 Peter 1:6-7 Msg

Spoiler alert, life is not always warm and fuzzy!!! With our faith comes suffering, for real, for true (in my Jamaican accent). There is no escaping it! It is a part of the Christian experience.

For instance you may know someone, or maybe yourself, that's going through it right now. Trial after trial, dis-ease of the body and spirit, future may look real gray right now and you say, my God, why? When will it end? Haven't I, they, suffered enough?

Well, the good news is it only last for a little while and it is in The Sovereign will of God. Our suffering is purposeful and a part of God's plan. He is Sovereign both in our salvation and in our suffering. His testing teaches us what is true and right.

So although we suffer externally, internally we are being renewed day by day, revealing that our suffering is ultimately for the glory of God. 

This is why we are to rejoice during our suffering, Get out there and dance in your rain, worship in your wilderness and remember this:
